SCULPTURES

In my artistic practice, I explore the intersection of craftsmanship, technology, and the inherent beauty of natural materials. My current body of work revolves around the creation of sculptures crafted from laser-cut timber sheets, resulting in intricately layered statuaries that captivate the viewer’s gaze. The process begins with a meticulous design phase, where I meticulously plan and conceptualize the composition and form of each sculpture. With the aid of laser-cutting technology, I transform numerous timber sheets into intricate components that come together to form these visually captivating three-dimensional artworks.

The layering technique employed in my sculptures adds depth and complexity, allowing the viewer to experience the artwork from multiple perspectives. Each layer represents a moment in time, a fragment of the sculptural narrative, and when combined, they form a harmonious whole that tells a story. The interplay of light and shadow on the textured timber surfaces further enhances the visual allure, evoking a sense of depth and bringing the sculptures to life.

Through this innovative process, I aim to challenge traditional notions of sculpture and push the boundaries of material exploration. The contrast between the organic nature of timber and the precision of laser-cutting technology creates a captivating juxtaposition that sparks curiosity and invites contemplation. These sculptures celebrate the intricate beauty of nature while embracing the possibilities offered by modern techniques.

Ultimately, my sculptures invite viewers to engage in a dialogue between tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology. They serve as a testament to the transformative power of art, where the convergence of traditional materials and contemporary processes results in captivating and thought-provoking sculptural forms.
